Perhaps best know for being one of the streets that surround the Paris Opera House Palais Garnier, Boulevard Haussmann presents a wonderful example of the heart of Paris. A leisurely walk down the Boulevard in 2023 presented the view captured in the painting "Parking".

In the early Thirties, Alfa Romeo dominated Grand Prix racing with the brilliant Tipo B. It is viewed as one of the milestones in Alfa Romeo's racing history. Originally undertaken as a "loose" study for a larger work, the color balance and overall effect proved to be worth takingb to a full painting. This scene is selected only for its complimentary coloring and "vintage" feel.

*About Studies:
Executed primarily to test an idea, the layout and the color balance of a concept considered for a larger, more substantial...and detailed...work. But once in a while the studies themselves can become so good... so demonstrative of the original idea... that it doesn't need to go any further. The study itself becomes the final work.
